Who are we?


We are Mawiw Council Inc. We work to to improve the overall well-being of the three largest rural First Nation communities (Those being Elsipogtog, Neqotkuk, and Esgenoopetitj) through health initiatives, economic development, education, and environment, by respecting and sustaining our culture and traditions for our current and future generations.

What do we do?

We work with A.S.E.T.S, Jordan's Principle, Aboriginal Diabetes Initiative (ADI), Tobacco Control Strategy, Economic Development and Training, Intergovernmental Affairs, and Energy to overall improve the well being and ensure proper information is given to the three community we work with.


How do we help?

If our communities are having difficulties getting services, or they can't find a way to get their voices heard, that's where we step in. We are the middle man, amplifying the voice of the communities, and getting the attention of the government.



We work with various other people to help ensure the satisfaction of our communities. we work with INAC (Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada), Health Canada, NWMO (Nuclear Waste Management Organization), PNB, Emera, and NE Pipeline
